God’s not done writing my story…as I lean on Him daily and allow Him to develop my artistic talent and skill, my hope is that my paintings and art will bring someone hope, encouragement, and faith.
This painting was inspired by a stock photo. My spirit leapt and immediately I wanted to paint it…then the story about Jesus calming the storm came to my mind! I was really excited because maybe somebody would see this painting and be encouraged..maybe this painting could help God reach someone…and the doubt creeped in my mind that the sand would be too hard..and so I struggled a minute..and thought maybe I will do a different picture. God whispered, You can do this! So, I did.
Today I share this painting with you, to encourage you to not be afraid of the storm, rather BE STILL.. get in His Boat and Trust in Him.
Mark 4:35-41 AMP
On that day, when evening had come, He said to them, “Let us go over to the other side.” So leaving the crowd, they took Him with them, just as He was in the boat. And other boats were with Him.
And a fierce windstorm began to blow, and waves were breaking over the boat, so that it was already being swamped. But Jesus was in the stern, asleep on the cushion.
And they woke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are about to die?”
And He got up and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Hush, be still!” And the wind died down as if it had grown weary and there was at once a great calm [a perfect peacefulness].
Jesus said to them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith and confidence in Me?” They were filled with great fear, and said to each other, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?”
Mark 4:35-41 MSG
Late that day he said to them, “Let’s go across to the other side.” They took him in the boat as he was. Other boats came along. A huge storm came up. Waves poured into the boat, threatening to sink it.
And Jesus was in the stern, head on a pillow, sleeping! They roused him, saying, “Teacher, is it nothing to you that we’re going down?”
Awake now, he told the wind to pipe down and said to the sea, “Quiet! Settle down!”
The wind ran out of breath; the sea became smooth as glass. Jesus reprimanded the disciples: “Why are you such cowards? Don’t you have any faith at all?” They were in absolute awe, staggered. “Who is this, anyway?” They asked. “Wind and sea at his beck and call!”
Right now times are tough for everyone around the world..I invite you into Jesus’ Boat..and pray that He will wrap His love and peace around you in your storm! If you need prayer during this storm, please click here.
Trusting in Jesus,
